XOT Othello Tournament
The 1st European Othello Championship will take place in Dortmund on Saturday September 5th and Sunday September 6th 2026.

Transport
From the central station take a metro to Stadtgarten, then take the metro U42 in the direction Hombruch until Kreuzstraße or the bus 400 direction Märkische Straße and get off at stop Kreuzstraße
There are also various rental scooters (Ryde, Bolt etc) and rental bicycles (Donkey republic, 1€ per hour) available.
The cheapest taxis are by Bolt. It can be as cheap as 7€ to get from the main station to the venue.
Parking
Parking near the venue is difficult. Your best bet may be at the end of Kreuzstraße. Forget about parking when there’s a local BVB soccer match.
Hotels and other options
In general, in Dortmund hotels can be expensive when there is a match weekend of BVB Borussia. We will know if this will be the case for the tournament weekend on July 6th.

- Dorint an den Westfalenhallen.

Prize by Radisson, Dortmund city is also cheap as of this writing (69€)

Sightseeing
For boardgames the Spieleunion venue will be opened on Friday evening starting at 17:00 until midnight. There are usually around 50 people there playing all kind of boardgames, card games, social deduction games etc.
For shopping go to Westenhellweg and Thier Galerie downtown.
A great place to have a beer in nice weather: Bergmann Brauerei. If you want a place more central, try Wenkers am Markt.
Check out Westfalenpark and take the elevator up the Florianturm. There's a rotating café up there.
If you like BVB, you can check out the Westfalenstadion (aka Signal Iduna Park). It's within walking distance from the venue.
